... Thick leather will hold its shape. The dome was probably formed over some wooden pattern, which was probably needed as a backing when tooling it anyway, but I'd say it's all leather, unless there's good reason not to.

didn't manage to work out dimensions but I will, looking for an excuse to buy the book they've produced on it anyway! The buttons are horn and about an inch in diameter. As I say I'll get you more precise dimensions on Tuesday.
