Hi Robert

Barry is right - Paul Wickham is an active HEMA practitioner - one of the few genuine ones in the Republic - and is renowned and highly recommended for his teaching skills.

If Lichtenauer/Late Medieval German style sword-fighting is your thing AND you are interested in Irish military heritage and martial archaeology of the same period - then you might want to do a bit with us some time http://www.facebook.com/ClaiomhLivingHistory - we are always interested in working with people with a martial arts background.

Robert,
I am involved with a few groups, one of them in Dublin trains in Ballymun most Sundays Wednesday evenings and does cover HEMA stuff - some of us were at Fightcamp in the UK in August and we are now doing a fair bit more of the pure WMA/HEMA stuff in addition to the more traditional reenactment style of fighting.
Private Message me and I can give you more details.

The December Stick Fighting event should be good and probably a good place to meet people...any of the illustrious persons mentioned so far should be able to get you closer to where you want to be. There are a couple of others but not sure how active they are on here.

Brendan
