Hmmm, well the Irish were always noted for their rendition of foreigners :) ...and I'm not referring to the band here

In the Iron Age there was trade with North Africa so why not a few Romans?

Jumping back to the topic at hand, if you are into historic foods try Archaeological and Historical Diets/Recipes (and archaeobotany!) on Facebook. There are loads of medieval cookery books out there, not sure if you have them.
