I'm still more than happy with the sword. In the meantime it got some minor scratches and sings of use. But it's still in surprisingly good condition if I look back to the last three completely rainy and even snowy seasons of use. Well, I've to admit that i use for most of the combat things my longseax....
Thr horn made hilt was the best investation I ever made: it's anti-skidding at any weather and temperature conditions... didn't expect this in such extent.

Isn't the Ballinderry where they found the sword in central Ireland, not northern Ireland?

It goes without saying that Billy is correct about the sword's provenance being in the centre of Ireland - Co Westmeath - his question mark being but a polite punctuation of his modesty. Not too long ago another well known Irish re-enactor who shall remain nameless tried to convince me that the Ballinderry in question was in Co Waterford...

Anyhow my advice would be... having basic facts like this wrong does nothing to inspire confidence in the product - on the other hand knowing your product like the back of your hand builds confidence = good business.

As for your upgraded version - your drawings look excellent and that's a nice pair of calipers so I'm very much looking forward to the sword - will you be paying as much attention to the blade dimensions as you are to the hilt furniture may I ask or will you be mounting it with a standard re-enactment blade?

if you mean engrave floral motive, so yes. With writing "+ULFBERHT+" is it not so ease and price going rapid up. Definitly for now no. If anybody is interest in replica with the inscriptions, we can do it. No problem (send us email please) Is it answer you want, Barry?

I think Swifty is complimenting the quality of construction of the hilt. He then asks what type of blade you will use. Will it be a 'typical' reenactment blade OR will the blade be based on the original.
