I have answers

The replica will be fit for fencing. It mean:
the blade will thiner than original from 64mm to 57mm due to not sharppen blade. It able to keep weight limit.
The replica of sword will not be decorated (Inlaying) by silver and gold (question of money)
The blade will not from damask (price and useful for fencing)
The Inscription will etch (price and useful for fencing)

To do true replica is not so big problem for us. In 99,9% is problem with money on side of customers.
On the other hand own demands are daily bread. (I am not sure this phrase)

the Ballinderry sword is not unique in its kind. In the beginning of the 20th century we found a similar piece back in the Netherlands (Elst).
Some time ago we made this piece: http://www.celticwebmerchant.eu/a-27199 ... llinderry/ . We love the Ballinderry sword, when properly made. But it's important to realize that even Albion has its own Ballinderry sword.

Please let us know what you think of our reconstruction.

I have a type e made by one of the Poles with a great carved bone grip.

I am from CR and I definitely wouldn´t recommend anything from Krondak. He doesn´t forge the blades, he just takes a piece of, as we call it, "rail" and grinds it into a blade shape. It´s too heavy, therefore not functional. Furthermore the steel he is using is quite strong and it just chips all other properly forged blades.

This is my friend who produces woolen hand woven, hand dyed clothing or cloth. I think the english version of her website doesn´t work but you will get the idea after clicking through the links in the menu. She gathers wool from her own sheep. No chemistry involved. She also focuses on using the same materials for dyeing as early medieval people could have been using.

This is the leader of my group ( http://www.skjaldborg.cz ) Recently he gave up his career as graphic designer and moved into blacksmithy. He already has 6 months to 1 year waiting time. But if you need a high quality knife/seax/sword he is the right man. He is extremely well educated in northern early medieval art styles so all the ornamentation is not just some fantasy bulls*it. And last one is a guy I wish was my friend Patrik Barta is probably the best blacksmith in CR and one of the best in the world. Two years waiting time Just check out his website - all the swords are based on finds from many different countries and ages. He often gets commissions from museums so he has access to the original finds and can study and reforge them.
